Super Air Jet Adds 10kg Baggage, Follows Lion Air

The airline Super Air Jet has changed its rules: from 17 July 2025, passengers will only be able to carry 10 kilograms of checked baggage free of charge. "This adjustment is made to make traveling simpler, more efficient, and more comfortable against the backdrop of constantly changing mobility trends," said Super Air Jet head Ari Azhari.

Similar changes were previously announced by Lion Air, which will also set a 10-kilogram limit on all domestic and international flights.
New conditions for Super Air Jet:
Passengers who bought or exchanged tickets before 17 July will retain the old allowances — 15–20 kg free, depending on the route.
For new and exchanged tickets from 17 July, only 10 kg of checked baggage will be included.
Hand luggage remains unchanged — up to 7 kg per passenger.
According to Indonesian Transport Minister's Decree No. 30 of 2021, budget airlines can set the free baggage allowance from 0 kg. Nevertheless, Lion Air and Super Air Jet maintain 10 kg free, emphasizing their care for passengers.
For those who need more volume, a prepaid baggage service is available at a discounted price — it can be arranged through the official websites of the airlines or the BookCabin mobile app. Passengers with large quantities of goods can use specialized cargo services for delivery throughout Indonesia.
