Waves Damage Nusa Dua’s Waterblow Landmark

Unusually high waves surged over the reefs into the interior of the Waterblow attraction and flooded part of the infrastructure. The ticket booth pavilion and the electronic ticket sales terminal were damaged—areas that usually remain dry even during strong surf. The scale of the event is clearly visible in the published photos.

On August 12, the site was inspected by Badung District Tourism Department staff; a meeting with the state company Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), which manages the Nusa Dua resort area, is scheduled for August 13.
Department head I Nyoman Rudiarta clarified that the impact was on the ticket booth pavilion, the electronic terminal was out of service and needs replacement. A letter has been sent to BPD Bali Bank requesting new equipment. The site is closed indefinitely, and ticket sales have been suspended. After reopening, tickets will be sold manually until the new terminal is installed.
An announcement about the temporary closure has been posted on the official account @waterblow.bali.
Currently, high waves persist in the southern waters of Bali: according to the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG), they are 2.5–4 m in the Indian Ocean south of the island, around 2.5–2.9 m in the Badung Strait, and about 1–1.5 m in the north. Warnings are extended for the coming days, urging caution at the water's edge.
