The annual Lovina Festival will take place in Lovina from 24 to 29 July. The main venues will be located by the dolphin statue on the beach and near Spice Beach Club Bali. This year marks the 12th edition of the festival, with the theme “Dolphin Theatre”.
The programme includes a small sailboat race, the Lovina Run and Cross Country races, cultural performances and contemporary music concerts. A separate highlight will be sampi gerumbungan, a traditional Buleleng competition featuring decorated pairs of bulls fitted with wooden frames and bells. The festival will also host the Gemar Makan Ikan seafood programme.
The festival will feature 82 local entrepreneurs who have passed the selection process. The authorities expect the event to attract more visitors to northern Bali and support local cafés, hotels, craftspeople and other small businesses. Lovina Festival is included in Indonesia’s national calendar of major cultural events.
Ten parking areas will be provided for visitors in Kaliasem and Kalibukbuk. Security will be organised at 14 locations, with medical staff, firefighters and rescue teams on duty at the venues. The grounds are expected to be cleaned three times a day.
