Authorities explained that traffic was restricted for safety reasons and emphasized that the situation is under control.
Only motorcycles are allowed to pass at the moment, and only for local residents and guests of nearby hotels, all under the supervision of repair crews.
The causes of the collapse are attributed to a combination of factors: nearby hotel construction, a leak in the water supply system, and soil erosion, exacerbated by heavy trucks with construction materials. The damage also affected six houses and two restaurants. Fortunately, the hole appeared in the middle of the road, and transport could turn around, although detours were necessary.
As an alternative, Poppies II Street is being used. The hotel developer, considered one of the possible causes of the incident, has stated that it will take on the restoration work. However, the repair did not go smoothly: a video appeared on social media showing a worker suddenly falling into a newly formed hole. His condition is still unknown, causing further concern among residents and staff.
We recall that recently another section of road in Bali collapsed in the Bangli area. It was also undergoing repairs.
