QRIS Tap Started Operating in Red Buses in Bali

A new payment method for public transportation has been launched in Bali — QRIS in tap format, without the need to scan a code. To pay, you now just need to tap your NFC-enabled smartphone on the reader.

The launch was attended by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, representatives from Bank Indonesia, BPD Bali Bank, the parliament, and other officials. The symbolic first transaction was made by the governor himself.
According to the Head of Bali's Department of Transportation, I Gede Wayan Samsi Gunarta, all 75 medium-sized Trans Metro Dewata buses are now equipped with devices for payments via both QRIS scanning, electronic money, and the new QRIS Tap format.
The system is also integrated with Trans Sarbagita buses. If a passenger transfers from one route to another within 90 minutes, the second trip is free of charge, making the total cost of travel just 4,400 rupiahs.
Currently, Trans Metro Dewata serves six routes connecting Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan:
– Kuta Central Parking — Pesiyapan Terminal (Tabanan)
– Ubung Terminal — Ngurah Rai Airport Domestic Terminal
– Ubung Terminal — Icon Mall Bali Sanur
– Ubung Terminal — Monkey Forest Parking (Ubud)
– Kuta Central Parking — Bali Polytechnic Institute (Badung)
– Kuta Central Parking — Nusa Dua (Badung)
