Hundreds of soldiers from the Udayana military district command participated in the cleanup of Lembeng Beach near the Bagus Mantra highway. The event was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.

Police officers, government representatives, schoolchildren, local residents, and environmental groups joined the military — a total of about 500 people.
Brigadier General Taufik Hanafi, Deputy Commander of IX/Udayana, noted that waste remains a serious problem for Bali's coast and requires joint efforts.
"This action is not just about cleaning up but an expression of patriotism through real steps to protect nature," he said.
Such events are not being held for the first time. Moreover, the military even launched a project to create special boats for clearing the sea of debris.
