The organisers expect 3,000 people. There is a fee to take part, and registration is open until 30 October.
Walking barefoot on sand, soil or grass is known as grounding. Its supporters believe it relieves stress, inflammation and pain and helps you sleep more deeply. Walking on loose sand is roughly twice as hard as walking on asphalt, so you also burn more calories.

The programme runs until 10 am and includes laughter yoga, games and a performance by Balinese pop singer Bagus Wirata. Every participant receives a prize draw coupon, and the main prize is a motorbike.
The event is organised by Varash, a Balinese maker of herbal oils, together with the Kerobokan village community and its women's organisation. The theme of the day is “Ground, Breathe, Connect”. Community residents, students, local groups and companies have been invited, and families are welcome.
Registration is on the Varash Community website using a Google account, and the pages are only in Indonesian. The basic option costs 100,000 rupiah and includes an event T-shirt. For 200,000, you also get a 100 ml bottle of Varash oil.
Participant packs will be handed out on 5 and 6 November from 9:00 to 17:00 at the Varash office in north Denpasar. To collect yours, you will need a printed ticket or the code from the email sent after payment.
