Jetstar Launches Direct Newcastle–Bali Flights This October!

Qantas Group, which announced the closure of its Singapore division Jetstar Asia, simultaneously delights travelers with a new destination: starting October 21, 2025, Jetstar will begin year-round international flights from Newcastle Airport (New South Wales) to Bali.
The new route logically complements the recent network expansion: just a month earlier — from August 1, 2025 — direct flights from Gold Coast will start.
Airbus A321LR aircraft will operate three flights a week: from Newcastle on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and back on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The journey will take just under six hours, and the annual passenger volume will exceed 70,000. Residents of the region will no longer need to travel to Sydney for connecting flights — the resort will be just 'one direct flight' closer.
The flights will be serviced at the new international terminal at Newcastle Airport, set to open in August 2025. The terminal is a key element of a large-scale modernization project worth 250 million Australian dollars, aimed at meeting the growing demand for overseas travel from Newcastle and Greater Hunter.
Bali remains Jetstar's most popular overseas destination: about 100 flights depart there every week, and the minimum one-way ticket price this year drops to $148 USD (for instance, on the Perth - Denpasar route). Additional direct connections with Australia could reduce ticket prices and simplify trips to New South Wales.
