Singaporean low-cost carrier Scoot is also expanding its routes to Indonesia. At the end of the year, flights will be available to Labuan Bajo, Medan, Palembang, and Semarang. Starting January 2026, the number of flights between Singapore and Bali will increase from 21 to 28 per week.
On October 21, Jetstar operated a direct flight from Newcastle (Hunter Region, Australia) to Bali for the first time in five years, restoring the Australian airport’s international status. Flights will operate three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using an Airbus A321LR. Departure from Newcastle is at 09:30, with arrival in Denpasar at 13:05. The route is expected to serve more than 70,000 passengers annually. Jetstar Group CEO Stephanie Tully described the launch as an important event for the region and highlighted that it is now easier and cheaper for Hunter residents to travel to Bali. In honor of the opening, a 24-hour online ticket sale was held, with prices starting at 215 Australian dollars one way.
Newcastle is the second largest city in the state of New South Wales and a center for Australia's coal and port industries. The region is known for its beaches, wineries, and proximity to the famous Hunter Valley, a frequent tourist destination.
