Giant Cobra Slithers Into Bukit House

Residents discovered a three-meter cobra on Melasti-2 Street in the Bukit Peninsula in Bali. Four firefighters from the nearby Kunti station responded to the call. Although catching snakes is not their primary duty, the firefighters managed to successfully handle the situation.

As reported by station officer Nyoman Asana, the report about the reptile initially went to the central station on Kebo Iwa Street, which then redirected it to Kunti since the site of the incident was closer. The journey took about 25 minutes, traveling with sirens and lights on due to heavy traffic.
The cobra was hiding under the water tower. Firefighters used hooks as handling the dangerous reptile by hand was too risky. The snake hissed and assumed threatening postures — a bite could have serious consequences. A local dog helped the rescuers by preventing the cobra from escaping.
After fifteen minutes of effort, the snake, about three meters long and weighing approximately one and a half kilograms, was placed in a bag and handed over to the Natural Resources Conservation Agency. No one was harmed.
Finding a snake in the house is not a reason for heroism. Instead of trying to catch the dangerous guest yourself, it's better to immediately call the experts.
