Emirates Removes A380 from Dubai–Bali Daily Service

Emirates stopped operating the daily Dubai-Denpasar (Bali) route with the double-decker Airbus A380. Instead, the line is now served by a Boeing 777. The replacement was confirmed at Ngurah Rai Airport: the transition began on January 17, 2026.

The Airbus A380 is one of the most recognizable passenger planes in the world: a ‘super jumbo’ typically used on high-demand routes where maximum capacity is essential. It's the largest passenger aircraft globally and the only serial production jetliner with a full double-deck configuration throughout its fuselage. Since June 1, 2023, Emirates has launched Bali's first-ever regular A380 service in Indonesian history.
This is a truly huge aircraft, with a wingspan of 80 meters and a height from the tail of 24 meters, comparable to an eight-story building. For comparison, the A320, one of the most common aircraft in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, has a wingspan of only 36 meters and a height of 12 meters.
In the Emirates configuration, the giant has 426 economy seats, 78 business seats, and 14 first-class cabins, providing maximum comfort.
Bali airport emphasizes that the infrastructure is still prepared to accommodate large aircraft, including the A380. Why the A380 was removed from the route now and for how long wasn't publicly explained; it's the airline's decision. Ngurah Rai representatives associate this with the low season and reduced demand.
