The cancellations are linked to airspace closures in several countries amid the US–Israel and Iran conflict. Airlines estimate that 5,905 passengers were unable to depart from Bali.
The cancellations mainly affected routes via Dubai (Emirates), Abu Dhabi (Etihad Airways) and Doha (Qatar Airways). The airport stresses that operations are otherwise running as normal and advises passengers to check their flight status with their airline. Help desks in the international terminal remain open for assistance (they provide information, rebooking, refunds and other ticket-related solutions).
Ngurah Rai Immigration has introduced emergency measures for foreigners whose flights were cancelled due to force majeure. It is possible to apply for a stay permit due to unavoidable circumstances on the same day; the overstay fine in such cases is stated as 0 rupiah. For the application, they ask you to bring your passport, a flight cancellation letter from the airline and confirmation of the cancelled ticket.
