Denpasar Police have launched an internal investigation into an officer at a driving licence centre. The investigation was prompted by a video whose creators claim that a driving licence could be obtained for 500 thousand rupiah without going through the standard procedure.
Two men and a woman approached the officer and asked for help obtaining a driving licence. The conversation was recorded and posted on social media.
The officer has been temporarily reassigned. His actions are being investigated by the police internal security division. If the violation is confirmed, he could face disciplinary action.
The official fee for a driving licence is 120 thousand rupiah. The medical certificate and psychological test are paid for separately.
Police are also investigating two men who identified themselves as journalists. According to law enforcement officials, after the video was published, they offered to remove it in exchange for money.
