Construction of a new Living World shopping centre has started in Kuta. The exact opening date, the building’s floor area and the list of tenants have not been disclosed yet.

The construction site is on a large plot next to Central Parking Kuta. This is an area by one of Kuta’s main transport hubs, where there are already plenty of cars, tourist buses, taxis and motorbikes. The site has already been branded as Living World Kuta, and retail units are being offered to prospective tenants.
Living World is a chain of shopping centres operated by the Kawan Lama Group. Bali already has Living World Denpasar: it opened on 24 March 2023 and was promoted at the time as the island’s largest shopping centre. It was built on a 3.5-hectare plot, and the building has seven levels: two underground floors for parking and five floors with shops, restaurants and leisure areas.
Living World is not just about shopping. The Denpasar mall has homeware stores, children’s shops, cafés, restaurants, a cinema, entertainment zones, open spaces, an amphitheatre and a rooftop park. Brands at Living World Denpasar include Informa, Toys Kingdom, Pet Kingdom, Pendopo, Chatime, iBox, Uniqlo, Guardian, XXI and others.
For Kuta, the new mall could be a noticeable change. The area already has Beachwalk, Discovery Mall, Lippo Mall Kuta and Park 23, but Living World is usually developed as a large family shopping centre with a focus on home goods, restaurants and leisure. If the project goes ahead at the stated scale, it could increase retail competition in south Bali while also adding pressure on the roads.
