In Bali’s Marine Tourism Hub (BMTH), an 8.11-hectare area of the port, known as Taman Segara Kerthi, will be transformed into a concert venue. According to Erick Thohir, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, it will be part of a complex that includes a marina, entertainment facilities, and shopping zones. The port, located near Sanur and the toll road, is continuously developing and has the potential to become one of Bali’s key tourist hubs. It regularly welcomes massive cruise ships from around the world and is gradually building the necessary infrastructure.
Thohir stated that the construction of the concert venue would further enhance the port’s appeal as a popular cruise ship docking destination. During a previous visit to Benoa Port in May of this year, Thohir mentioned, “I hope that major events like Tomorrowland, Summer Sonic, and other world-class events will be hosted in the port area.”
However, specific technical details of the project are yet to be announced.
Praising the improvements at Benoa Port, the minister highlighted that the cruise pier at Benoa, following its modernization, can now accommodate ships up to 500 meters in length, allowing two jumbo-class vessels to dock simultaneously.
The recent upgrades to Bali’s Marine Tourism Hub cost 1.2 trillion IDR for marine tourism infrastructure and an additional 2.2 trillion IDR for enhancing land infrastructure. Among other developments, the port is being transformed into a luxury marina for yachts and boats.
In 2024, Benoa Port welcomed numerous large cruise ships, bringing over 100,000 passengers to Bali. This past Friday, two more jumbo-class cruise ships—MV Azamara Pursuit and MV Noordam—docked at the port. They marked the 55th and 56th vessels to arrive at Benoa since January 2024.
