Bali has once again achieved outstanding international recognition, being named the “Best Island” at the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards 2025. This prestigious award was personally presented to Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, who expressed her gratitude to travelers for continuing to choose Bali as their top holiday destination.
“Thank you for choosing Bali as the ‘Best Island.’ This reaffirms that Bali remains the most desirable destination for tourists,” said the Deputy Minister. She dedicated this award to the people of Bali, local authorities, and all those in the tourism industry who have contributed to preserving the island’s beauty and culture.
“I hope this success inspires us all to continue developing tourism and promoting other incredible destinations in Indonesia on the international stage,” Ni Luh Puspa added.
Bali managed to surpass other renowned tourist destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Maldives, Boracay (Philippines), Phuket (Thailand), Phu Quoc (Vietnam), Palawan (Philippines), Koh Samui (Thailand), Langkawi (Malaysia), Penang (Malaysia), and Lombok (Indonesia). While all these islands are undeniably beautiful, they couldn’t quite compete with Bali—at least according to DestinAsian’s readers.
The awards ceremony is part of the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards, an annual recognition that has been held for 18 consecutive years. The award is based on votes from DestinAsian magazine readers across various Asia-Pacific countries. Though subjective, this ranking reflects the collective opinion of a significant number of travelers, making it a truly democratic acknowledgment of Bali’s global appeal.
