The Finance Minister of Indonesia, Purbaya Yudhi Sadeva, announced: within three months, an artificial intelligence system will be launched to control customs and excise.

The reason — a sudden inspection: the current control does not catch schemes like underpricing cargo. 'I want to see this online. We need AI data processing,' said the minister.
AI will be integrated into the digital center LNSW — the National 'Single Window' System, where data on exports, imports, taxes, and excise converge. They will also look for 'gaps' in income there. A team of 10 analysts will be assembled for the launch. The expectation is simple: collections will become more stable and transparent.
Facts today: by September, customs and excise brought in 221 trillion rupiah — 73% of the annual plan. Export duties generated 21.4 trillion: this is 477.8% above the plan and 74.8% more than a year ago — due to palm oil prices, the growth of its export, and the permission to export copper concentrate.
