While Bali’s traditional taxi drivers continue their battle against ride-hailing giants like Gojek and Grab, a new competitor has quietly entered the market, offering affordable bike rides to locals and tourists alike.
Zendo, an Indonesian multi-service platform providing transportation, delivery, and cleaning services, already operates in 25 cities across Indonesia. Now, its services have expanded to Bali, one of the 45 locations the company plans to enter in 2025.
But before you rush to download their app, here are two key things to know:
1. The app is only available on Google Play (not iOS).
2. Orders are placed exclusively via WhatsApp, not through an app.
According to their “About Us” section, Zendo is willing to provide any service that doesn’t break the law. However, the platform officially offers several key services:
• Zendo Bike – A motorbike taxi service for quick, short-distance rides.
• Zendo Car – A taxi service for more comfortable and safer transportation, ideal for groups or passengers with luggage. (🚨 Not yet available in Bali!)
• Zendo Delivery – A cargo delivery service promising on-time and secure transportation of goods.
• Zendo Food – A food delivery service that lets you order from your favorite restaurants via WhatsApp.
• Zendo Shopping – A grocery shopping service where drivers buy your items at a supermarket and deliver them to your doorstep.
• Zendo Cleaning Services – Professional home and office cleaning, offering standard, deep, and post-event cleaning.
According to Zendo’s social media, their service list is even broader. For example, if something in your home breaks, they claim to have a specialist who can come and fix it.
While Zendo’s car taxi service is not yet available in Bali, all other services are. For now, Zendo Bali only works with bike drivers.
The ordering process is very simple—and even a bit old-fashioned. Instead of using an app, you just open WhatsApp, message Zendo, and describe what you need. They reply quickly, and you can communicate in Indonesian or English.
Price Comparison: Gojek vs. Zendo
For a motorbike ride from Canggu to Bali Airport, here’s a price comparison:
• Gojek App:
• Small bike: IDR 54K
• Larger NMAX bike: IDR 64K
• Zendo WhatsApp service: IDR 80K
Zendo’s official website lists various payment methods, including:

However, when asked in WhatsApp chat, a Zendo manager also offered the option to pay in cash directly to the driver upon arrival.
Unlike Gojek and Grab, Zendo does not offer real-time tracking of your driver. Instead, you will only receive an estimated arrival time and updates via the WhatsApp manager.
On the other hand, this is how taxis worked before apps existed—so it’s not necessarily a dealbreaker.
