The authorities in Tabanan have announced the construction of a new parking lot for visitors to the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. The two existing parking areas with a capacity of 70 spaces are no longer sufficient as the tourist influx is increasing. The new parking project has been approved, and it is promised to be completed by 2027 or possibly earlier. The budget is 20-30 billion rupiah.

A site near the Pura Petali temple is being considered, but it is a kilometer away from the attraction, which is inconvenient for visitors. Therefore, a location closer to the entrance is being sought. The main requirement is not to damage the fields themselves, as the village regulations (Peraturan Desa) prohibit any construction in the subak area.
Simultaneously, the full launch of a helipad, tested at the beginning of 2025 and operating in a limited mode, is being discussed. Supporters anticipate an influx of premium guests, while opponents fear additional burden and threats to UNESCO status.
In 2024, Jatiluwih was included in the list of the world's best tourist villages by the UN World Tourism Organization. Authorities hope that tourism will become an ally in preserving the unique landscape rather than a threat.
