Goods worth 11.24 billion rupiah that had been imported or sold in violation of customs and excise regulations were destroyed in Bali. They were seized by customs between September 2025 and June 2026.
Most of the goods were 16,138 bottles of alcohol, 3,780,297 cigarettes and cigars, and 540 vape cartridges.
Customs also destroyed 132 phones, laptops and tablets, 3,384 packages of medicines and cosmetics, 2,110 packages of clothing, 410 packages of medical devices, and another 1,111 parcels containing various goods. Some were seized from airline passengers’ luggage and international shipments.
If the goods had gone on sale, the state budget could have lost 4.42 billion rupiah in excise duties, customs duties and import taxes. Customs considers this amount to be losses prevented because the goods were seized.
In total, during the first half of 2026, the regional customs office responsible for Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara carried out 887 seizures. The goods found were worth 109.6 billion rupiah.
