35 Indians Arrested in Bali Over Online Gambling Ring

The Cyber Crime Directorate of Bali Provincial Police reported the arrest of 35 Indian citizens in connection with an online gambling operation. The group operated from two rented properties: a villa in the village of Tibubeneng (Canggu District) and a house in the village of Cepaka (Tabanan Regency).

Initially, 39 Indian citizens were found at the two locations, but after checking, four were deemed unrelated to the scheme and were handed over to immigration authorities for further proceedings. The remaining 35 were identified by the police as suspects in the illegal online gambling case.
The scheme was discovered through a "cyber patrol". On January 15, law enforcement noticed a social media account promoting a gambling website and publishing instructions with links for account funding, withdrawals, and customer support. The investigation believes the detainees facilitated these operations using laptops, computers, and phones.
The police estimate the earnings to be approximately 22.98 million Indian rupees per month per site, equivalent to several billion Indonesian rupiah. Seized items include 42 smartphones, 15 laptops, 3 computers, 3 monitors, and 2 routers. The group had been operating in Tabanan since November 2025 and in Tibubeneng since December 2025.
