Virgin Australia has launched a direct Canberra–Denpasar route. The first flight departed on 22 June. It is Virgin Australia’s first international route from the Australian capital and currently the only direct flight between Canberra and Bali.

Batik Air launched the route in 2024, but later suspended flights after a few months.
The first aircraft departed Canberra at 16:10, and the journey to Bali takes just over six hours non-stop. Flights will operate three times a week on a Boeing 737-800. The cabin includes Business Class, Economy X with extra legroom, and standard Economy.
Virgin Australia expects to add more than 40,000 seats a year on the route. The airline already flies to Bali from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
The frequency may be increased during peak periods if demand is strong. During school holidays, the route could be expanded to up to five return flights per week. To mark the launch, Virgin Australia introduced a ticket sale with return fares from AUD 449, but this is a promotional fare: it is only available on selected dates and does not include checked baggage under the Economy Lite fare.
