Trans Metro Dewata Is Heading North: New Bus Routes Planned

The operator Trans Metro Dewata — PT Satria Trans Jaya — has announced readiness to launch bus services in Buleleng regency. This could be the first step towards the return of public transport, which has long given way to private motorcycles and cars in northern Bali.

However, specifics such as routes and the number of buses have not yet been determined, as the technical scheme needs to be prepared by the Department of Transportation.
The topic is being publicly promoted by Bali Governor Wayan Koster. He announced plans to bring Trans Metro Dewata to Buleleng alongside the development of the northern route and to launch daily bus services between Singaraja and Denpasar.
Koster also mentioned fleet renewal: he stated that by September at the latest, Bali expects to receive support in the form of 10 electric buses from Korea, which are planned to be deployed in Buleleng with an affordable rental rate.
