On October 15, 2025, the body of a 27-year-old Russian citizen with the initials Z.D. was discovered at a villa in the Pererenan area. The man was naked and found face down in his room, with the circumstances of his death still unclear.

The tourist was staying in room No. 105 of the villa in Banjar Pengembungan. He was last seen alive on October 13: he went to the reception to extend his stay, paid 500,000 rupiah, and returned to his room. The next day, the administrator knocked on the door to remind him of the check-out time, but there was no response. The door was locked from the inside, and the light in the room remained on.
By evening, the man had not appeared. The staff decided to wait until morning and only on October 15 opened the room with a spare key as instructed by the manager.
Investigators from the Badung police and a forensic team noted the absence of signs of violence. Preliminary estimates suggest that death occurred two days before the body was found. The room showed traces of vomit and feces, water on the floor, and a small bruise on the deceased's right temple. Among the belongings, there were two used mosquito repellents, a bottle of Dreamz vitamins, mineral water, and scattered sunflower seeds.
The police suspect that the tourist may have fallen ill, but the exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy, which requires the family's consent. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement collaborating with the Russian consulate and the deceased's relatives.
