Tourists Detained in Bali After Filming Controversial Video with Local Driver

Who’s more charismatic than Bali’s motorbike taxi drivers? It’s no surprise that videos featuring them often rack up the most views. Many people try to use that to grow their social media, but sometimes a viral clip doesn’t lead to success — it leads to trouble. Because among those millions of viewers, there might be police watching too.

Twenty-three-year-old French model Melisa Mireille Jeanine, known as CallMeSlo, arrived in Bali on 21 February and immediately realised that funny videos with taxi riders perform well with audiences. However, she decided not to stick to light-hearted content.
She filmed adult content to make money and distributed it via OnlyFans and X. A shoot featuring an actor dressed as a GoJek taxi rider took place on 8 March 2026 at a villa in Pererenan. The clip quickly went viral and drew the attention of local authorities.
When a man wearing the recognisable green jacket appeared on screen, online users initially thought he was a real local driver with whom the model had previously filmed funny videos. He was quickly hit with accusations, but the police выяснили that he had not taken part in the shoot. The model’s partner was a 24-year-old Italian man who had bought the uniform in advance at a souvenir shop for 300,000 rupiah.
Apparently realising that the views were taking them in the wrong direction, the couple tried to leave Indonesia for Thailand but didn’t make it. They were arrested прямо in the airport. Later, the police also identified a third member of the group — a 26-year-old Frenchman who acted as their manager and was responsible for publishing the content.
During searches, officers seized the creators’ equipment: several iPhones, a camera, a MacBook, and the same green vest.

Immigration confirmed that Jeanine entered Indonesia on 21 February on a tourist visa (VoA). However, filming and selling content is considered work, not tourism, which strengthens the prosecution’s case.
All three now face up to 10 years in prison for producing pornography and up to another 6 years for distributing it. In Indonesia, this is among the most severely punished offences, and police can open such cases without anyone filing a complaint.
This isn’t the first case. In December 2025, British adult content creator Bonnie Blue was detained in Bali. She gained attention on the island through a “BangBus”-style format, traveling around with her team and filming provocative videos with other tourists. During one of the raids, the crew was taken into custody.
It was not possible to prove that the model filmed adult content, so no criminal case was opened. However, she was still punished for organising and carrying out commercial filming on a tourist visa — she was fined, deported, and blacklisted for 10 years, with the option of an extension. The authorities separately подчеркнули that such actions harm the island’s image and show disrespect for local culture.
