Today, on August 6, 2025, the main Indonesian surf tournament of the season — Rip Curl Cup-2025 — took place at the Padang-Padang spot in the south of Bali. The judges raised the "green flag" precisely at 07:00 local time.

From the very start, the ocean met the forecast: the southwest groundswell consistently delivered waves of one and a half to two times overhead, and a light offshore wind polished the wave walls. The format is classic for the Padang Cup: each athlete participates in two thirty-minute sessions, and their two best waves count towards their score, regardless of the round.
In the men's division, Indonesian masters — Made "Bol" Adi Putra, I Ketut Agus, Bronson Meydi, and Garut Widiarta — matched the level of invited stars: Noa Deane, Mason Ho, Ivan Florence, Jackson Dorian, and others. The women's final featured Jasmine Studer, Ziggy Mackenzie, Kaiah Hoyer, and Willow Hardy.
After the morning rounds, where Hawaiian Ivan Florence (a nine for a deep left barrel) and Balinese I Ketut Agus (8.50 for a technical right section) made the biggest marks on the scoreboard, the judges paused for the low tide, and by four o'clock in the afternoon, the competition returned to the water. The final series — first women’s, then men’s — were completed before the golden sunset.
The title of 2025 champion and 75 million rupiah prize went to 18-year-old Balinese Westen Hirst: 18.57 points in the final, with a 3.6-point gap from the nearest contender. Jasmine Studer leads among the women.
