Even if you're not interested in surfing, this video will keep you watching until the end. A clip is going viral on Indonesian social media, showing a young man conquering massive waves on a board.

You might wonder, what could surprise those living in Bali? It's all about the rider's appearance. He is wearing a pristine white sarong, a traditional shirt, and an udeng (men's headgear worn by Balinese during religious ceremonies). Occasionally, he folds his hands on his chest in a mudra, giving the impression that he is praying. All this happens while the surfer speeds through the tube (the space under the breaking wave crest, where the rider is surrounded by water on three sides).

The video stars Koki Hendrawan, an Indonesian professional surfer, born and raised in Bali. At 34, he began his career in the World Surf League in 2015 by qualifying for the Men's Qualifying Series.
The young man lives in Bali and actively surfs the Uluwatu and Padang Padang spots. He participates in local competitions: in 2019, at the Uluwatu Single Fin Classic, he scored a perfect 10 points for a wave.

Since 2013, he has been regularly invited to the Rip Curl Cup in Padang Padang and recently won qualifiers there alongside Rahtu Suargita.

Koki has an Instagram account where he shares content about surfing, lessons, and his everyday life. The unconventional surfer describes himself as “Atlet / lawak” — athlete and joker, offering surfing lessons in Uluwatu for intermediate and advanced levels.
