“The parking rate adjustment will come into effect on September 23, 2024,” said the airport’s CEO, Handy Heriyudhitawan. The price increase will apply to all types of vehicles, including motorcycles, cars, buses, and six-wheeled trucks.
According to Handy, motorcycles and six-wheeled vehicles will continue to be charged hourly after the first 12 hours. The increase will be modest, with rates rising by 1,000 to 2,000 rupiah on average.
For motorcycles, the parking fee will rise from 4,000 to 5,000 rupiah for the first 12 hours, after which the hourly charge will be 3,000 rupiah—up by 1,000 rupiah.
For four-wheeled vehicles, the parking fee will increase from 10,000 to 12,000 rupiah for the first hour. The charge for each additional hour will rise from 5,000 to 6,000 rupiah.
The fee for six-wheeled vehicles will increase from 15,000 to 16,000 rupiah for the first hour, with the charge for each additional hour rising from 5,000 to 6,000 rupiah.
Regarding premium parking, the cost will be 40,000 rupiah plus the standard rate, with an increase of 10,000 rupiah. The premium parking rate at Novotel remains at 60,000 rupiah.
After 24 hours, the initial rate will apply again. The penalty for losing a parking ticket remains fixed at 50,000 IDR for two-wheeled vehicles and 100,000 IDR for four- and six-wheeled vehicles.
Handy stated that the additional revenue from the increased fees will be invested in improving airport facilities, such as constructing parking buildings at the international and domestic terminals, setting up open and dedicated two-wheeled vehicle parking, pedestrian crossings, additional payment gates, and expanding the road network within the airport.
The last time parking fees were changed was in 2021, Handy added. Additionally, there will be considerations for special parking rates for vehicles that stay less than 15 minutes in the airport zone, as over 40% of vehicles enter the airport for that amount of time. The exact figures for these short stays have not yet been determined.
