Shooting at Mengwi Villa Leaves One Dead, One Injured

On the night from Friday to Saturday, in the Mengwi area of Bali, about 12 km from Kuta, an armed attack occurred at the luxury villa Casa Santisya. As a result, 32-year-old Australian citizen Zivan Radmanovic was killed, and another man, 34-year-old Sanar Ghanim, was seriously injured.

According to the police, around midnight, two unknown men in motorcycle helmets and jackets — one in bright orange, the other in green — broke into the guarded area. They opened fire on those inside. Witnesses claim the attackers spoke with a distinct Australian accent.
Radmanovic was shot in the bathroom, with two bullet wounds to his chest and one to his leg. Seventeen bullet casings and dozens of bullet fragments were found at the scene. Ghanim, who suffered at least seven gunshot wounds, was also beaten. He was taken to BIMC hospital in critical condition but was later discharged.
During the attack, there were four other people in the villa; none of them were harmed. The deceased's wife, Jazmin Gurdeas, reported that she woke up to the sound of gunshots and caught a glimpse of the attackers fleeing on motorcycles.
The possibility of robbery is ruled out — nothing was stolen from the villa. The investigation is considering the attack as a premeditated murder, possibly linked to criminal disputes.
Media reports state that both men had criminal pasts. Ghanim was previously convicted for a shooting in Melbourne and is known as a former associate of mobster Carl Williams' widow. Radmanovic was implicated in 175 criminal cases.
Local residents saw the men during the day before the attack — they were returning from the beach and behaved calmly. A shopkeeper nearby described the deceased as 'polite and quiet.'
Badung police are reviewing CCTV footage, interviewing witnesses, and tracking possible escape routes. The suspects have not yet been identified. There is a possibility they left Bali before the manhunt began. Australian law enforcement is also involved in the investigation.
The Australian authorities expressed condolences and confirmed cooperation with the Indonesian police.
