According to the BMKG meteorological agency, the rainy season began gradually at the end of September in certain areas of Bangli, Karangasem, and Klungkung. Rains are expected in nine climatic zones in October, ten more in November, and by the end of November, rainy weather will have settled across the entire island. The peak of rainfall is forecasted for January and February 2026. In October, heavy rains will cover most of Jembrana, Buleleng, Tabanan, Badung, Karangasem, Bangli, and Gianyar. In November, they will spread to the remaining areas, including Denpasar and Nusa Penida.
The Head of Bali's Climatological Station, Aminudin Al Roni, noted that in 30% of the zones, the start of the rainy season corresponds to the climatic norm, in 40% it arrives earlier, and in 30% it is delayed. In terms of rainfall intensity, 75% of the zones are expected to be normal, while 25% will exceed it. These latter include the northern and eastern parts of Buleleng, central Tabanan, central Badung, southern Bangli, part of Karangasem, southern Gianyar, and Nusa Penida. The rest of the island will remain within usual climatic values.
Those planning to visit Bali this autumn and winter should take into account the early arrival of the rainy season. This is a time when tropical nature comes alive, filled with vibrant greenery and freshness.
