Bali police have arrested two men suspected of stealing a wallet from an Australian tourist. The suspects, DUS (aged 43) and AL (aged 44), were identified through surveillance cameras.

The victim, 46-year-old Australian Damian Troy Row, reported that on the morning of October 6, near a supermarket on Benesari Street, Kuta, his wallet containing about 20 million rupiahs in cash was stolen. Two men approached him under the pretext of asking for a cigarette, and one of them discreetly took the wallet from his pocket.
When apprehended, the suspects had 2.6 million rupiahs, a GoJek jacket, clothing, and a red Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle in their possession. During questioning, both admitted to having committed similar thefts in the Seminyak and Padma areas, operating with a method where one distracted with conversation while the other took the wallet.
According to the detainees, they spent the money on daily needs and family medical expenses. The police are continuing the investigation and checking if others might have been involved in the scheme. Authorities have urged residents and tourists to be cautious and avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
Law enforcement also promised to increase patrols and ensure the continuous presence of police in high-crime areas. Recently, the authorities have already announced plans to establish special assistance posts for tourists, which will operate 24/7.
