From August 5 to 7, water pressure will drop in Nusa Dua and nearby areas of southern Badung, with some locations expected to lose water supply completely. Tirta Mangutama is connecting an underwater pipeline to the main distribution network and has advised customers to store enough water in advance.
The work is taking place along Bypass Ngurah Rai near the Nusa Dua toll road exit. An 800-millimeter pipeline laid across the seabed of Benoa Bay is being connected to the existing network — a 450-millimeter steel main and a 250-millimeter plastic pipeline.
Disruptions are expected in the Puri Nusa Dua residential complex, Sawangan banjar, the areas around the Hilton and Renaissance hotels, Jalan Dharmawangsa and Jalan Kampial, as well as Beranda Bukit, Melang Kaja, and Gunung Payung. Nearby neighborhoods may also be affected.
Customers have been asked to store water before the work begins and use it sparingly throughout the three-day period. Crews will remain on site to respond immediately to any technical problems. Once the connection is completed, water pressure will be restored gradually until the network returns to normal operation.
Southern Badung already experienced water disruptions in May. At the time, a 450-millimeter main burst on the same section of Bypass Ngurah Rai, south of the Nusa Dua exit. Repairs took longer than expected, and water had to be delivered by tanker trucks to Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa, and Kampial.
The underwater pipeline has a capacity of 350–600 liters per second. It will supply Nusa Dua and the eastern part of South Kuta, while the existing pipeline will continue serving Pecatu and the western part of the peninsula.
