🚫 Attention! Mount Agung in Bali will be closed for climbing from April 6 to May 3, 2025, due to the important Ida Bhatara Turun Kabeh ceremony at Pura Besakih temple. This is an official ban, violation of which may even lead to deportation from the country.
If you've long dreamed of conquering Bali's highest peak (3142 m), we recommend not postponing the hike.
🌋 Agung is an active volcano and a sacred mountain for the locals. Its last eruption was recorded between 2017 and 2019. Now the volcano is stable and safe to visit. 🙌
What awaits you during the ascent?
▫️ Climbing Agung is significantly more challenging than the routes on Batur or Ijen, requiring good physical fitness.
▫️ The route, with a total length of 14.5 km, takes from 6 to 8 hours one way. The first two-thirds can be completed in about 2 hours, while the most difficult section awaits at the last stretch.
▫️ The final section involves an ascent with an incline of up to 60 degrees on a slippery rocky slope, with an elevation gain of about 1900 meters.
▫️ You'll witness the sunrise at the summit, where you'll have about an hour to rest, enjoy panoramic views, and take photos.
▫️ The descent will take from 6.5 to 7.5 hours, with a driver meeting you at the end of the route.
▫️ Solo climbing is strictly prohibited due to the high risk and difficulty of the route, especially at night.
It's a serious challenge, but believe me – the breathtaking sunrise on Agung is worth any effort! Honestly assess your abilities and join this unforgettable adventure.
