A large-scale project is starting on the island of Lombok, adjacent to Bali: here, a huge five-star hotel will be built on Tanjung Aan beach.

The project will be implemented by the state-owned company ITDC, the same company that created the Nusa Dua resort in Bali. Now they are working on developing the Mandalika tourist area, one of Indonesia's five super-priority destinations. Besides Lombok, this program includes Lake Toba, Labuan Bajo, Borobudur, and Likupang.
The complex will cover over 101,000 square meters. It will be accessible within 30 minutes from Lombok airport. ITDC and investors from Indonesia, Japan, and the UAE will invest 2.1 trillion rupiah, or about 124.5 million USD, in the project.
According to the contract terms, the complex will be built following ecotourism principles: a significant part of the area will remain green, and solar energy and water purification systems will be utilized.
The land lease duration will be 30 years with the option to extend for another 20 years.
The new hotel is aimed at a premium audience and is expected to stimulate the development of the region's entire infrastructure, including roads, power grids, and the international airport.

Tanjung Aan is famous for its soft white sand, crystal clear water, and peaceful atmosphere. The beach still maintains its local island charm, with warungs and beach huts lining the shore.
Nearby is the Tanjung Bongo vantage point — a great place to catch the sunset.
How to get to Lombok?
You can reach Lombok quickly from Bali:
– by speedboat from Sanur or Padangbai,
– by domestic flight from Ngurah Rai airport.
Many travelers are already combining holidays in Bali, the Gilis, and Lombok, discovering different sides of Indonesia. It looks like Lombok will soon become another must-visit destination in the region. Judging by ITDC's ambitious plans, this is just the beginning.
