Want to dine between the sky and the earth? Then visit the floating restaurant, Lounge In The Sky in Seminyak. It's perfect if you're looking for something exclusive and unique. Dining in this one-of-a-kind restaurant will spice up your evening with a rush of adrenaline and plenty of photo opportunities.
Located in Seminyak, Lounge In The Sky allows guests to enjoy dinner with a stunning view of the surroundings from 30 meters above the ground. The restaurant accommodates up to 32 guests at a time.
There are three daily "flight" sessions, lasting between 40 and 60 minutes each, during which both guests and staff are strapped in with safety harnesses. The take-off process is smooth, without any jerks, to avoid discomfort or stress for guests. After reaching the height, servers first offer water to help guests relax.
The restaurant features a variety of Indonesian cuisine, offering two options: an hour-long dinner or a lighter meal lasting around 40 minutes. The restaurant "flights" begin in the evening (at 4:50 PM, 6:00 PM, and 7:30 PM local time). With gentle music playing and a soft breeze, guests can enjoy spectacular sunset views and the bright stars above. Currently, this is the only restaurant of its kind in Bali, with a similar one located in Jakarta.
At 30 meters high, guests are guaranteed full safety, with staff secured by safety cables. Meals are not prepared in the air; instead, three courses are served in sequence, turning each part of the dining experience into a culinary show.
The cost to visit this unique restaurant ranges from 800,000 to 1.5 million rupiah. You can find more details, check prices, and reserve a table on the Lounge In The Sky Bali website or by calling: +6281329997917.
The restaurant plans to periodically change locations around the island and across Indonesia, never staying in one place for more than a year.
A similar restaurant was opened in Jakarta in 2022, where visitors could admire the capital from a height of 50 meters. It became Indonesia's first sensational sky restaurant and the third in Asia, after Malaysia. The restaurant resembles a thrilling amusement park ride, but in reality, guests dine calmly at 50 meters while enjoying views of Jakarta’s bustling traffic at the Semanggi intersection.
At the bar located in the center of the platform, chefs and waiters prepare and serve the meals. Surrounding it are eight round tables, each with four chairs attached to the table and platform. The chairs can rotate 180 degrees, allowing guests to enjoy panoramic views comfortably. If you'd like to relax, the backrest of the chair can recline slightly. The entire Lounge In The Sky platform is lifted by a 220-ton telescopic crane.
Once the restaurant reaches a height of 50 meters, guests are served a four-course menu from Boca Rica Tapas Bar & Lounge, featuring a mix of international and traditional Indonesian flavors. The menu includes cilantro lime chicken, Balinese chicken Caesar salad, tender beef with miso butter, and a mango dessert with white chocolate. During the hour-long dinner, the platform slowly rotates, allowing everyone to take in the view.
In Malaysia, there is also a chance to dine in a floating restaurant. Dinner In The Sky first took place in central Kuala Lumpur, with two evening sessions seating 22 guests each. During the event, the chef from Hilton Kuala Lumpur presents a five-course menu. Each such dinner costs 559 ringgit (around 1.94 million Indonesian rupiah) per person.
The first project of this kind was launched in Belgium in 2005 and quickly gained worldwide fame. The restaurant is lifted to a height of 45 meters. The Belgian Dinner In The Sky project was one of the inspirations for Lounge In The Sky in Jakarta.
