Kuta Run 2026 Set for Jan 25: Half Marathon by the Sea

International level marathons are often held in Bali — usually, they select scenic routes through the jungles. This time, the focus shifted to the beaches: the international run, Kuta Run 2026, will be held in Kuta on January 25, 2026. The distances are 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km (half marathon).

The start is at 05:00. The course will pass through popular tourist areas of Bali: Kuta, Seminyak, and Legian. Roads will be temporarily closed.
The Chairman of the Kuta Run 2026 Organizing Committee, Emmy Khalsum, stated that the regional branch of the Indonesian Athletics Federation (PASI) has already recommended the debut event. The course was pre-tested: Balinese professional athletes ran the future route and generally approved it.
The run is declared international: runners from Bali and other regions of Indonesia, as well as foreigners, will participate. Registration is already open on the website.

The race kit includes an exclusive running jersey and number, a commemorative medal (if, of course, they reach the finish line), an electronic certificate, snacks, and drinks after the finish. There will be water stations every 2.5 km, as well as a prayer room (musholla) and toilets. Medical staff will be on duty at the event.
The slot registration costs are currently: 950,000 rupiahs for 21 km, 650,000 for 10 km, and 450,000 for 5 km. Up to 12,000 runners are expected.
A day before the start, an environmental program is planned: on Kuta beach, everyone can help release turtle hatchlings into the ocean. A festival with live music, shows, dancing, and local cuisine is also promised.
