In Pecatu (Uluwatu district), the so-called Sterling shortcut has been closed — many used it to travel quicker between Bingin and the Dreamland/Balangan areas, as well as to head towards the Uluwatu highway and further to Jimbaran.

Social media reports say the road is completely and permanently closed, leaving only the main road as an alternative.
The closure might affect traffic in Pecatu: vehicles will be redirected to main streets, where there are already heavy jams during peak hours and near beach approaches. Another practical issue is navigation: drivers warn that maps may still direct through the closed road for some time, so it's better to double-check the route and allow for extra travel time.
This shortcut crossed private land and was not a fully public road — thus access could be blocked at any moment, even without prior announcements. There are no official comments from authorities or the landowner yet.
