Kerobokan Robbery Ends in Fatal Motorcycle Accident

In Kerobokan, an attempted robbery on the road resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. Late in the evening of February 7, 46-year-old Juhaeria Velina, an Indonesian citizen from Tangerang (Banten province), was riding along Pengubengan Kauh street.

She was returning with a group of motorcyclists, but during the attack, she found herself behind the others, so there was no one near her. A bike with two men approached her, and one of them suddenly grabbed her bag — the woman lost her balance and crashed into an electric pole.
The attackers could not steal the bag: after the yank, they lost control and fell, but quickly got up and rode away. The road section was almost empty at that moment, and soon police arrived at the scene. The injured woman was taken to RSU Garba Med hospital in Kerobokan, but they could not save her.

The police classified the incident as robbery with violence, leading to a fatal accident. Investigators, along with the Badung district police criminal unit, inspected the scene, collected recordings from private surveillance cameras, and requested access to municipal cameras via the Badung district communications and informatics department to trace the attackers' route and identify their features.
Remember that when traveling by bike, it's better to store your bag and valuables in a closed compartment under the seat rather than keeping them outside. And if possible, avoid riding late alone, especially on deserted and dark streets.
