Foreigners Busted for Operating Bali Spa with Underage Prostitutes

The Bali Police Criminal Investigation Department has announced that an Australian couple has been named suspects in a prostitution case. The foreigners, identified by the initials MJLG and LJLG, are accused of running a brothel disguised as a spa under the name Pink Palace Bali SPA, located on Mertasari Street in Kerobokan.
The establishment has been operating for over a year without raising any suspicions from regulatory bodies or the police. In addition to the Australian couple, four Indonesian nationals are also suspects in this case. They include WS (a 37-year-old man), the salon’s director; NMWS (a 34-year-old woman), the general manager; and WW (29 years old) and IGNJ (33 years old), both administrators.
According to Suarnai, the Pink Palace Spa advertised its business using two pickup trucks decorated with the spa’s ads. The business model was straightforward: clients were offered a spa package and taken to a room where “masseuses” were waiting. After selecting a preferred worker, they would proceed to the massage room. Despite its simplicity, the business generated a monthly turnover of between 1 to 3 billion rupiahs.
Several dozen women were found working as so-called masseuses in the spa, one of whom was a minor. Most of the clientele were foreigners. Following the Bali police raid, the spa has since ceased operations.
The police report that they are receiving increasing information about brothels operating under the guise of spa salons, particularly in Denpasar and Badung. In this specific case, investigators were tipped off about the illegal activities by one of the spa’s employees.
During the raid, two black pickup trucks, hundreds of condoms, 6 million rupiahs in cash, and items related to the crime (whatever that may entail) were seized. The six suspects are currently being held in detention.
