To preserve environmental cleanliness and reduce emissions in the tourist area, the Indonesian Battery Corporation (IBC) has partnered with the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) to launch a pilot project using electric shuttle buses and electric motorcycles in the Nusa Dua area. A presentation of this eco-friendly project has already taken place there.
What are the benefits of this eco-initiative?
It will attract environmentally conscious travelers seeking a harmonious nature-friendly vacation.
Electric vehicles produce no emissions, operate quietly, and have low operating costs. This contributes to cleaner air and a serene atmosphere while making transportation more economical and modern.
IBC's Director of Commercial Relations, Reynaldi Istanto, noted:
"Our mission is to achieve emission reduction goals in Indonesia, with ITDC as our partner in implementing electric vehicles in the tourist area. Currently, IBC is also preparing electric motorcycles with battery swapping stations and electric shuttle buses for tourist services in Nusa Dua."
This partnership will also extend to other areas of the energy sector:
- Energy storage systems for backup needs;
- Solar panels;
- Electric buses and cars.
ITDC's Director of Operations, Troy Warokka, added, "We hope this pilot project in the Nusa Dua area will stimulate the green tourism sector, improve the comfort of electric vehicle users, and create a green ecosystem."
Nusa Dua is not the first area where electric shuttle buses will be used in Bali. Dozens of five-star hotels in Bali already offer guests free transfers using electric vehicles, and these services are increasingly being implemented in leading tourist attractions.
For example, at the Jatiluwih rice terraces, a shuttle bus service was recently introduced to make it easier and more enjoyable for tourists to reach the world-famous rice terraces from the parking area.
With reduced air pollution and vehicle noise, Nusa Dua will become an even more attractive and peaceful place to relax.
There is currently no specific information on the launch date of the electric shuttle buses and motorcycles in the Nusa Dua area.
