Bali has always been a desirable destination for tourists from around the world. However, reaching the island from some countries has not been easy. Now, IndiGo is launching direct flights from the Indian city of Bangalore (Bengaluru) straight to Bali. And vice versa.
Previously, direct flights between Bali and India were operated only by Vistara Airlines, flying from New Delhi.
The new flight 6E 1605 will operate daily, providing an opportunity for Indian tourists from the south of the country to visit Bali. The flight time on the Airbus A320 is 7 hours, departing from Bangalore at 00:50 AM daily and landing in Denpasar at 10:20 AM.
Bangalore is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India. It is the third most populous city in India. In the first two months of 2024, Bali was visited by 68 thousand citizens of India. Meanwhile, among incoming foreign tourists, Australians continue to dominate.
The Bali airport is also preparing to receive the first flight from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The head of the airport, Ngurah Rai Hendi Herudhiatiawan, stated: "Etihad Airways plans to fly from Abu Dhabi to Bali. Currently, we are continuing preparations to ensure that all conditions are met for the arrival of the flight and the aircraft, there are parking spaces for the aircraft, registration desks, and staff are ready to receive passengers according to our capabilities and resources."
"As far as I know, this airline has never flown to Bali before; this is a new route for them," he added.
Hendi also mentioned that according to the plan, Etihad Airways is expected to make its first landing after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, tentatively in May.
Overall, the airport administration forecasts receiving 23.6 million foreign and domestic passengers throughout 2024.
