Soon, from May 2 to May 4, 2025, Bali will host for the first time a stage of the IFSC Climbing World Cup. The event will take place on the Peninsula in the Nusa Dua area, a vibrant green space by the ocean, near the Waterblow and the Bali Collection shopping center.

A modern climbing gym is being completed there, featuring two routes for speed and difficulty climbing. The work is already 80% completed, with the final installation of panels underway. Once construction is completed, the facility will be tested and certified by the international federation IFSC.
The organizers emphasize that the choice of Nusa Dua is no coincidence. The area combines natural beauty, convenient logistics, and developed tourist infrastructure. The climbing gym by the ocean could become a new attraction not only for professionals but also for those interested in climbing as an active pastime.

For Indonesia, this event is significant not only in the world of sports but also in terms of national pride. In recent years, the country's climbing team has shown excellent results on the world stage, and Indonesian athletes regularly reach the podium.
The competitions will be held in two disciplines. The Indonesian team will present 31 athletes: 10 men and 9 women in the 'speed' category, as well as 6 participants each in the men's and women's 'difficulty' categories. Special attention is focused on Veddriq Leonardo, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion in 'speed'. The team will also feature Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi from Bali, who represented the country at the Paris Olympics.

It's also a great opportunity to develop the island as a center for sports tourism. Moreover, it's another reason to draw attention to climbing in Bali — not just as a spectacular sport, but as a leisure activity as well.
