In the first 10 months of 2024, Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport immigration office recorded 11,761,729 border crossings by Indonesian and foreign nationals. This marks a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
A total of 5,842,636 arrivals were registered, including 325,542 Indonesians, 5,366,057 foreigners, and 151,037 airline crew members. Meanwhile, 5,919,093 people departed from the airport, comprising 310,788 Indonesians, 5,445,926 foreigners, and 162,379 crew members.
Among foreign arrivals, Australians continue to lead with 1,323,369 visitors, followed by 460,887 Indians and 404,045 Chinese nationals.
942 foreigners were denied entry, and 355 individuals (both Indonesians and foreigners) were barred from leaving the country. Reasons for denial or detention included being on a blacklist or wanted list, lack of a valid visa, or being flagged by Interpol.
Administrative actions were taken against tourists: 209 foreigners were detained, and 159 deported.
Inspections revealed 140 legal violations, with 118 overstays being the most common.
The highest number of violations was committed by Nigerians (32 cases), followed by Russians (29 cases), Chinese nationals (19 cases), Americans (17 cases), Australians (13 cases), and Ugandans (13 cases).
