Blazing Bali: Tourists and Locals Battle Intense Heatwave!

Bali is experiencing unbearable heat, and both locals and tourists are feeling its effects. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BBMKG) has issued a warning: air temperatures are reaching 34°C, but due to high humidity, it feels even hotter. In such extreme conditions, it’s crucial to take care of your health.
With clear skies over Bali, the sun’s rays directly heat the ground, pushing temperatures to their peak. Humidity levels fluctuate between 60% and 90%, intensifying the suffocating heat. The moisture in the air prevents sweat from evaporating, making the body feel even hotter—a phenomenon known as the “heat index”. Right now, Bali’s heat index is at its highest, and these extreme temperatures are expected to last until March 10, before gradually cooling down.
Despite the sweltering conditions, meteorologists confirm that this heat wave is not linked to El Niño or La Niña. The temperatures remain within the seasonal norm, though they are approaching their upper limits.
For most of the day, the sun is relentless, but rain, thunderstorms, and lightning are possible in western, central, and northern parts of Bali. While these storms might bring temporary relief, they won’t provide a lasting break from the heat.
How to Stay Safe in the Heat?
✔ Drink plenty of water – dehydration is your biggest enemy in this weather.
✔ Avoid direct sunlight – especially between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
✔ Protect yourself – hats, umbrellas, and sunscreen are your best friends right now.
✔ Wear the right clothes – lightweight, breathable fabrics will help you stay cool.
✔ Take it easy – avoid intense physical activity during peak heat hours.
Stay cool and stay safe, Bali!
