The battle with the flames continued until morning. The blaze was so intense that it was visible even from planes arriving in Bali. Apparently, the complex was built mainly in an eco-style, using materials like bamboo and straw, which are known to be highly flammable. Although the villas were occupied at the time of the fire, no casualties were reported.
Security guard Ketut Warta reported that around 9:30 PM, while on his rounds, he saw flames on the second floor of villa No. 9. He tried to use a fire hose, but it couldn't reach the flames, and the fire continued to spread. Ketut then evacuated the guests and moved their belongings to a safe place.
Kadek Wardana, a technical engineer, also attempted to extinguish the fire, but strong winds caused the flames to spread to the neighboring villa.
Villa staff contacted the administration, and after some time, fire brigades arrived at the scene. The damage from the fire is estimated at 12 billion rupiah. Ketut Sukadi, a public relations officer for the Denpasar police, said, "The fire first appeared on the second floor of villa 9 in The Amasya Villas complex, then spread to villa 12. In total, 19 out of 20 villas were destroyed by the fire, with only villa 5 remaining intact."
There are no official reports on the causes of the fire or other details yet, as authorities are still investigating the incident.
