In April 2026, Bali welcomed 553,328 foreign tourists. This was 17.21% more than in March, when 472,070 visits were recorded. These figures refer to foreign tourists who travelled directly to Bali Province, not the total number of visitors entering Indonesia.
Australia was once again the main market. Tourists travelling on Australian passports accounted for 146,414 visits, or 26.46% of all direct foreign arrivals during the month.

India followed with 46,513 visits, then China with 44,447, the United Kingdom with 24,248, and the United States with 23,986.
Compared with April last year, however, the number of visitors was down. At that time, 591,221 foreign tourists travelled directly to Bali. The difference was a decrease of 6.41%.
From January to April 2026, the island welcomed 2,019,892 foreign tourists. In the same period last year, there were 2,042,666 visits. The decrease over the four months was 1.11%.
At the same time, hotels were busier in April than the month before. Occupancy in star-rated hotels rose to 57.94%, compared with 52.54% in March.
Compared with April 2025, the figure was almost unchanged: it stood at 57.23% then.
Occupancy was lower in non-star hotels and other non-star accommodation, at 34.81%. This was 1.49 percentage points higher than in March.
The situation has been described as unusual: the number of foreign tourists fell, while occupancy in star-rated hotels increased. This figure depends not only on the number of guests, but also on the number of rooms hotels make available for sale.
