The legislative committee of Bali province, which deals with zoning, state assets, and permits, has taken up the project of an international marina in the waters of Serangan.

The builder is PT Bali Turtle Island Development. The inspection began following complaints from residents about the potential impact on the coast, including erosion.
The committee is preparing an on-site visit and is simultaneously gathering documents related to the project to verify the permits and ensure that the construction complies with existing spatial planning regulations.
A separate issue is the work in the sea and jurisdiction over the maritime zone. If the construction is within 12 nautical miles from the shore, control falls under the provincial level. The committee wants to determine which agencies issued approvals and who is responsible for oversight.
There is also the issue of possible dredging and handling of sea sand near the site, though this is not yet confirmed.
The marina is being built as part of the special economic zone Kura Kura Bali in Serangan. The facility is designed to accommodate approximately 146 yachts, aiming to be a 'world-class marina' with a protected bay.
