The Amankila resort near Manggis in east Bali will close from 20 October to 19 January 2027.

Villas are being built next to it, and the noise keeps getting worse. The hotel has confirmed the closure, saying the decision was made so the construction work wouldn't disturb guests.
In the Michelin Guide, which rates hotels with “Keys” the way it rates restaurants with stars, Amankila holds two out of a possible three, and this is the second year in a row. The only hotel on the island rated higher is Mandapa in Ubud.

The resort opened in 1992 as one of the first hotels in the Aman luxury chain. Its pool steps down towards the Lombok Strait in three tiers and echoes the design of the nearby Taman Ujung water palace. In normal times, the beach club and bar are also open to people who aren't staying at the hotel.
