If you want local cuisine with a wide selection of dishes, quickly, cheaply, and in a civil manner, this is the place for you!
The Indonesian buffet principle of Nasi Campur is in effect, offering a choice of 3-4 types of rice (white/putih, white cooked in coconut milk/uduk, yellow/kuning, brown/merah) and the rest you choose yourself, plenty of vegetables (veggie welcome), chicken, shrimp, meat. You make your selection, they tally it up and give you a card with the price, eat and pay afterwards.
The price depends on what and how much you take, on average veggies 20-25k, with meat and shrimp from 30k. Everyone knows the buffet, but few know that you can order from a menu here, though it’s more informal - there are signs on the walls with various traditional Indonesian dishes, all of which can be ordered and prepared for you (which means you need to wait), confirm the price beforehand.
Some dishes are a luxury, for example, Sup Buntut - oxtail soup for 50k. Gado Gado salad - 17.5k.
