Mauritian cuisine restaurant with signature cocktails and aged rum in Seminyak
Description
Atmosphere:
Mauritian cuisine in Bali?
Fantasy? Reality!
On the island, you can easily embark on a gastronomic world tour: the number of different restaurant concepts and cuisines is countless.
Ti Moris is a Mauritian cuisine restaurant located in the heart of trendy tourist Seminyak.
Inside, it's cool (oh, blessed air conditioners), stylish, new, and fresh. Hand-painted walls, dark wooden tables, handmade dishes, unique lamps - each detail is made with love and attention.
The restaurant owners market the place as a pre-party gastrobar: a venue where you can have dinner and a few cocktails before heading to a trendy party – for instance, at Da Maria nearby.
Cuisine:
If you haven't tried Mauritian cuisine yet, believe me, it's definitely worth a shot.
Overall, all the dishes are very cozy and homey, so-called comfort food: hot thick curries, stewed meat with vegetables, crispy samosas, hearty stews.
The menu has a wide selection of dishes for groups - tapas, appetizers, large plates with mini versions of favorite dishes. Ideal for those who can't decide what to choose - this way, you can try almost the entire menu.
The restaurant opens at 8 am, and from 8 to 11 you can have breakfast here. For breakfast, you can get several breakfast tapas: for example, small pancakes with fruits (Rise and Shine), poached eggs with hollandaise sauce and toast, or an egg roll with a fish salad or crab meat filling of your choice.
From the main menu, try the Gajak platter – a large plate of classic Mauritian street food appetizers (beware, everything is fried :)
For a light start, Gato Pima is perfect – very tasty fried balls with a pea puree filling.
For the hungry, Vindaye Mauricien is an excellent choice – a traditional stew (choose from fish, squid, or vegetables) or a vegetable stew with tofu, okra, and thick tomato sauce (Rougaille Legumes).
Ti Moris is an excellent choice for meat lovers, as there are many meat dishes here.
For those not ready to experiment, please choose from classic dishes: pastas, sandwiches, and burgers.
Drinks:
Rum! And that's all you need to know ;)
Ti Moris has a unique collection of rum from Mauritius – from the simplest to the elite aged varieties.
An equally impressive selection of alcoholic cocktails – don't miss the chance to try the signature ones: Mermaid Tears made from rum, crème de cassis, and soda, Chili shot with rum, chili, and sour mix, or the coconut Mauritian Colada.
Non-alcoholic mocktails are also signature: I particularly liked Nice tea made with lychee, passion fruit syrup, and lavender earl grey tea.
And finally – a wonderful bonus: all prices are inclusive of taxes.
